CAT SFX are the four piece London based band who are making a superbly dark pop statement their unique take on more traditional punk bands; their harmonious and melodic tunes interspersed with heavy, sonic, electrifying guitar riffs, pounding drums, funky bass notes and forthright lyrics demanding a move for social and policital change – a musical force to be reckoned with”

The band is made up of the songwriting duo that is Caterina Speranza on lead vocals and guitar and Gordon Mills Jr on drums. The formidable partnerhip are joined by Jacob Morris on Bass and Charlie Mariani on lead guitar.

Cat and Gordon first met when they were working together writing songs for other people. The now fabled tale goes that one day when Cat was spitting some lyrics she’d put down, Gordon picked up a guitar and the pair looked at each other in a moment of ephinany and CAT SFX was born and the resulting offering was the band’s first official single “Doom Generation” which along with their second single “Reunite” was released during the course of last year.

Last year probably wasn’t the best time to start a band and release new music, but this hasn’t hampered CAT SFX who have rightly built an impressive reputation as being one of the UK’s most exciting new bands around and have already amassed great achievements despite obvious recent restrictions including being featured in high end press such as NME, CLASH and Louder than War, have been studio guests on Soccer AM, as well as being played over Goals of the Week and featuring on the official playlist. More recently they’ve been featured in the Sunday Times as a Breakthrough Act, The Daily Star to coincide with the new release and they were interviewed in ROLLING STONE magazine.

In addition, the band have received airplay on the likes of Radio X with John Kennedy , Radio Wales with Adam Thomas, BBC Sounds with Janice Long, BBC 6 Music with Steve Lamacq, in America on the Rodney Bingenhiemer show Sirius XFM and most recently on the Jack Saunders BBC Radio 1 show.

All in all, we’re sure you’ll agree not bad for a band that have as yet been unable to play their music to a live audience!

CAT SFX are now back and raring to go with their latest release, a politically charged banger pointing a proveribal two fingers up to the system “All The Money In The World” is a track that seeks to exploit the divide between the rich and poor and to out the draconian nature of the old boys network, all set to a kick arse sound track. With comparisons being drawn to the likes of Joan Jett, Blondie, Republica and The Pretenders, you know this is a new female fronted band that are gonna make a big impact akin to their aforementioned predecessors. It’s a deliciously divine nod to the delectable sounds of the 80’s with a fresh punk vibe injected throughout. With its clever lyricism and detailed instrumentals, it’s not hard to see why this band are making such a mark on the industry.

Lead singer Cat has said of the track:

“All The Money” is a song that first came about as I wanted to highlight the gross social injustice caused by the ever widening divide between the rich and poor. It’s never been as prominent as it is today and it’s only getting worse

In addition she commented;

“Furthermore, I wanted to draw attention to the fact that despite the “money can’t buy you happiness” saying, people seem so hung up on the notion that being materialistically money rich is the ultimate goal to happiness and this just isn’t true!”

“All The Money In The World” was recorded and produced at the home studios of Gordon Mills Jr who is not only one half of the songwriting partnership, but has also written and produced tracks for the likes of a (who he penned a number one hit for), Ed Sheeran, The Bluetones, Lissie, Sham69 and Razorlight amongst others. Indeed, Cat is no stranger to songwriting herself, having been a professional songwriter at Sony in Italy and written songs for multi platinum selling act, The Kolors. She was also a voice coach on a popular talent/singing tv show in Italy.

The single is being released under Alan Mcgee’s Its Creation Baby record label and will be available to download and stream on all major platforms from today ( 9th July 2021).
