FUTURE VERTIGO
Happy Science are the North London based new wave punk/alt rock four piece band consisting of a collective of producers, mix engineers and multi- instrumentalist songwriters; They are a melting pot of creative innovation, setting them apart from your ordinary run of the mill, everyday bands of which there are two a penny.

Today (20th August) sees Happy Science unleash their debut single on the world entitled; “Future Vertigo”
“Future Vertigo” is a thoroughly modern take on music. It’s an alternative sound setting the band apart from their peers and setting the bar high. Future Vertigo delivers on all fronts with its intro of strumming, picking guitars, building to commentary style lyrics depicting the everyday mundane, making you think you’ve got the cut of the jib of these boys, when out of nowhere electrifying, reverbing guitars swoop in and steal centre stage, leaving you reeling before the pace slows once more. It’s a track of highs and lows, ebbs and flows, that in its conclusion leaves you breathless and definitely wanting more.
It’s clearly a track that is produced with a certain level of higher intelligence and understanding that only a professional can bring, it’s got raw energy enthused throughout but also a deeper thought provoking meaning. In summary, it’s about time we were all listening in enthralled rapt to what Happy Science have to say.

Front man Calum Connaughton has said of the track;
Future Vertigo begins brooding, in a tense ascend into a fuzz drenched hypnotic crescendo. Barked vocals lead the march to god knows where…”
Happy Science like many, were hit hard by the pandemic. They were all set to officially launch themselves in the spring of 2020; with a raft of shows booked throughout summer 2020. Instead, the four-piece spent their time wisely writing and recording; honing their skills and producing songs to be excited about. Their much anticipated debut show at The Shacklewell Arms, London in June sold out. It was a high octane live performance that left fans reeling and demanding more.
Indeed there has already been some high praise for the band with George Godfrey of Radio X saying they were “really cool” Frankie Francis from Amazing Radio/Frankie & The Heartstrings stating “Love that sound. Love that band” and Rhys Downing (Mark Ronson, Peter Doherty, Bruno Mars) further commenting “I love it”.

“Future Vertigo” was recorded at Shrunken Head Studios, South London (King Krule, Ghostpoet), mixed at the Happy Institute, East London, mastered at the North London Bomb Factory, Studio Engineer: Senor Al Funklinos, Mix Engineer: Daniel Connolly, Mastering Engineer: Daniel Husayn.

You can catch Happy Science at their upcoming live dates on the 22 August at The Green Door Store, Brighton and 26 November at The Fiddler in London. See band website below for ticket details.
