LANDMINES

THE K’S were initially formed in Earlestown in 2017 and consist of Jamie Boyle on Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Ryan Breslin on Lead Guitar, Dexter Baker on Bass and newest recruit Nathan Peers on Drums.

After a string of hits The K’s latest offering and their 3rd single of 2023, is the high octane, adrenaline fuelled ‘Landmines’.

‘Landmines’ having long been a firm fan favourite was originally due for release in 2020, but due to the global epidemic was put on hold until the time was right and that time is now.

Building on the success of their first 2 single releases of 2023 (‘Hoping Maybe’ & ‘Chancer’) Landmines is the hat trick of the year for the lads with its now, trademark for the band, rousing chorus hooks and infectious guitar riffs.

The track starts off with an epic drum solo that is quickly joined by fuzzing electric guitars before the rousing lyricism kicks in. It’s a heady combination making for one belting tune of stadium worthy proportions.

Frontman Jamie Boyle has said of the new track;

‘Landmines is a memoir of myself growing up. It’s a story that is familiar to me, the band and thousands of other people across the UK who experienced the transition into adolescence living in a working-class town. The song sends many of us back to our late-teen days where the only recipe for a good night with friends was cheap alcohol and some sort of shelter, whether that be a tunnel or a skate park. Landmines brings back fond memories of the first real time we were free to explore the world by ourselves as, what we then thought were, ‘adults’ and the events that ensued’

After a whirlwind sell out UK tour in the first part of the year, The K’s are now embarking on a busy summer festival season as well as playing some big support slots with the likes of Blondie and Cast together with some more intimate shows of their own. The band have also today announced their biggest headline show to date at Manchester Academy on Friday 24th November.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (30th June) at 9am
