KNOW YOUR ONIONS

CAPES are a rock n roll trio hailing from the Midlands. The band is made up of Daniel Parkin (Lead singer/guitarist) Liam Bater(drummer and backing vocalist) and Jordy Baines(bass and backing vocalist).

The band came together after meeting on the circuit whilst playing in other bands and realising that they had a shared love of similar music tastes.

The story goes that mutual musical interests identified, the trio decided to get together one night for a jam season and, after realising they had something on their hands, they decided to form CAPES.

CAPES have quickly established themselves as Ones To Watch and as live favourites making appearances at the likes of Y Not, Tramlines Fringe and Big Shakeout to name a few.

Despite only having formed in the past year, CAPES have already released 3 singles to date, 4AM (Aug 22) , Wish I Could Fly (Sept 22) and Gimme The Night (Feb 23) and more recently have released their debut EP, ‘KNOW YOUR ONIONS’

‘KNOW YOUR ONIONS’ features 4 previously unreleased tracks by the band, as detailed below.

‘SLOW DOWN ‘ is an explosive track full of catchy hook lines and pounding drums coupled with powerful vocals. There’s a surprising change of pace at just over the 2 minute mark with the drums being allowed to play out a second rhythm before the track builds up again to explode into a final rousing chorus.

‘LOVE AIN’T A LOADED GUN’ is up next and this track opens up with the sound of only strumming guitars and vocals before the pounding bass and drums explode into action on the chorus hook. The track is anthemic in proportion yet has a really great melody to it with a noteworthy blistering guitar solo thrown in for good measure!

‘I’LL ONLY HURT YOU IF YOU LET ME’ is an outright banger full again once more with those huge guitar riffs and big stadium sized vocals coupled with pounding drums and thumping bass lines throughout. A proper rock n roll tune this one.

‘MAD WOMEN’ is undoubtedly the most rockiest track on the EP. It’s an energetic number full of hard hitting intensity. It’s a full throttle anthem from start to finish.

‘KNOW YOUR ONIONS’ is an impressive collection of tracks showcasing an array of musicianship and skill sets. Each track being different to the last yet overall, It’s high octane throughout with energetic stadium ready anthems that pack a hefty punch and will leave you begging for more!
