Beside Myself

Formed in 2022, in the brewing town of Burton-Upon-Trent, by guitarist Joel Colmey and drummer, Riley Gillard. The 76 Club are a 5 -piece alternative rock outfit. Combining ethereal guitar tones with punchy, bass ridden choruses, the group are certainly not afraid to demonstrate their various individual influences. Named ‘The 76 Club’, the band pay homage to the infamous club in their hometown that was a prominent point of inspiration for the band in its formative stages.

The band’s Second release, ‘Beside Myself’ Jae seen the band upping their musical game being well received across the board as well as attaibkt the accolade of BBC introducing Derby’s, track of the week by legendary local DJ, Dean Jackson.

The track ‘Beside Myself’ is all about the uncertainty that comes with breaking up with someone and the rollercoaster of emotions, wondering if it was the right decision. The lyrics capture the vulnerability and the longing for closure. It’s a relatable and heartfelt song that many people can connect with.

Musically the track, is full of funky, plucking bass notes coupled with wistful, dreamy vocals, that build up into something that is pure 70’s rock… with pounding drums and tantalising guitars riffs in the chorus hooks, this tracks ebbs and flows along in a most delightful manner, taking the listener on an almost nostalgic journey to back when music was real!

The 76 Club have been likened to the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Blondie and we can see why!

This is right up out street and having spotted them recently recording new music at our local haunt, The Albion Rooms in Margate with the legendary in-house sound engineer, Jason Stafford, we are proper excited to hear more from this incredible new band x
