Stockport’s’ very own, The Rolling People, have kicked off 2024 by putting a mesmerizing stamp on the indie music scene, with their latest single, ‘I’ll Be There’. It solidifies their visibility in the rat race that is the music industry. Crafting their sound since just 15 years old, their determination does not go unnoticed as this latest track harnesses every last drop of energy readying them for the bright lights and muddy fields of summer.

Setting the popularity sails in motion and under pressure, at 18, The Rolling People already have a lot to follow up as they delivered such a promise last year with their single release, ‘Grateful For Nothing’ their most streamed song, which captured the notion of northern rebellion.

To sum up, the first-time listening experience of The Rolling People would be a very short review and could be summed up by the word, ‘Impressive’, but there are no words in the English dictionary that can explain the thrill of music which this single pinpoints, the euphoric warm buzz you feel in a crowd. It’s a fist-bumping propeller of melodic greed. ‘I’ll Be There’, offers a modern take on classic rock anthems, fusing their newfound confidence with a romantic twist, but this is only a teaser of what’s yet to come as they announce their debut EP, ‘No Place To Be’.

In a career game of snakes and ladders, The Rolling People independently climbed ladder to ladder with last year’s sold-out headline tour and placing two songs in the top 20 of the iTunes Charts, including ‘Better Man’ at number 1.

‘I’ll Be There’, is a showcase of who The Rolling People are since having signed with LAB Records. Their reputation for energised live shows will be pivoted by this single alone, it feels like the fire in their belly has suddenly become a wildfire. They are set up for a belter of a year as they have already announced a multitude of shows across the country.

There is an insatiable musical itch, in which Charlie McNichol’s distinctive voice is able to soothe as his vocals take centre stage on this track, with an electrifying pairing of magnitudinous guitar riffs and catchy lyrics. ‘I’ll Be There’, is a ballad for the weekend, sure to be a sweaty crowd-pleaser and a chance to get lairy.

Charlie says, “Most of the tune revolves around the feeling of having someone’s back in all circumstances whether that be a friend or a lover, but also the anger and entrapment of selling out to live a life you truly don’t want to live.”

They will no doubt also end on a high as this year marks the third anniversary of the band’s evolution and musicianship maturity with a celebratory headline show at the O2 Ritz Manchester in December.
