“Say what you want about them; Love them, hate them, love to hate them. Nickelback absolutely blew 12,000 people away at their recent visit to The OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

I am not ashamed to admit that I have been a Nickelback fan my whole life and that this was actually one of the best gigs I’ve been to this year so far! Nickelback kicked off their “Get Rollin’ World Tour” in Glasgow, Scotland with an absolute belter of a set list.

They killed it from the get go by performing some of my favourite songs “Savin Me” and “Far Away” straight away! They managed create a set list filled with classics everyone loves as well as some newer bops to get everyone going! They performed “Photograph” and referenced the popular meme around Chad and the song. They also brought one lucky fan up on stage to help them sing “Rockstar” (lucky lassie)!

Also credit to the band for stopping mid chorus of their most famous song “How you remind me” to get help for a young fan in the front that seemed to have passed out. Then jumping straight back into it and finishing the set on an absolute high!

For the encore, we were lucky to get “Gotta be Somebody” and “Burn it to the ground” which got everyone so pumped up that we probably could have stayed another 1hr and a half! Overall, I would rate the gig a strong 9 out of 10, they would have got a 10/10 if the Spider-Man classic “Hero” was on included on the set list, but nevertheless an incredible performance that simultaneously took me back to my childhood, made me want to slow dance with the love of my life, drink beer round a campfire fire with my friends and simply enjoy life.”
