Oh yes, we can feel it. The Denabys have arrived and we’re here for them!

Hailing from the outskirts of Doncaster, The Denabys have set out to prove that hard work and good energy can bring sweet success. Brothers Niall and Declan formed the band in 2021, recruiting Jack and Calum to complete the group. The four soon found their honest hard graft paying off, earning them festival appearances and support slots for bands including Skylights and The Chase.

Their latest single ‘Can You Feel It’ typifies the band’s honest, passionate approach. Starting with rapid, plucky guitar riffs, the track pushes up and on with relentless drive. The drums rush forward with almost impossibly quick fills, Niall’s voice jumps in and the rest of the band fling themselves into the action.

“Can I keep the faith, can I keep the fire inside you …” Niall asks, and later: “Don’t dream your life away, one minute you’re here, the next you’re nothing …”

Although there’s a certain rowdiness to the music, it’s not noisy or overdriven: instead, the veer is towards bounce and brightness. This is not darkness or hopeless rage; it’s breathless excitement, lust for life, aiming higher. The message is of positivity, avoiding looking back with regret.

Almost exactly halfway through the track, there’s a brief, enjoyable guitar break, but Niall is soon back. It feels like he just can’t keep himself away – his message is too important, too vital, to delay. There’s a second instrumental break, and this lasts only a few seconds, too, before Niall kicks off a headlong rush to the finish, repeatedly asking “Can you feel it?”

Oh yes, we can feel it. The Denabys have arrived and we’re here for them!

The Denabys are Niall Ogley (Vocals / Guitar), Declan Ogley (Bass), Jack Fletcher (Lead Guitar) and Calum Green (Drums). They have headline shows booked in Edinburgh, Derby and Sheffield later in 2024, and more dates to be announced.
