“On 15th May, Cathouse in Glasgow hosted a very special gig as Grey Daze took to the stage during their 1st ever UK tour.

Grey Daze, a band formed in 1993 by Sean Dowdell and the late Chester Bennington crashed into the scene with hits such as “B12” and “Soul Song”. Chester went on to perform in a wee band you might have heard of.. Linkin Park.. however, in 2016, a Grey Daze reunion was in the works with the boys heading back into the studio to record the upcoming album “Amends”. Tragically, Chester passed away before the album was complete but with the help of family and friends, Grey Daze completed the album and would then go on to announce a tour titled “For You Chester” which would make its way to sunny Glasgow, Scotland!

Grey Daze, with the new and incredible lead singer Cris Hodges, arrived in Glasgow on their first ever UK tour and certainly didn’t disappoint! They kicked off the show with “Saturation” followed quickly by “Here, Nearby” and “She Shines”. Sadly, Mace had a personal matter to attend to so couldn’t be at the UK shows but that didn’t stop the rest of the squad putting on a killer performance.

Also I have to say that Cris Hodges has an absolutely incredible voice. Obviously we are naturally going to compare to Chester, who was just a one of a kind, but Cris had me speechless at his powerful vocals!!

There was actually a beautiful moment during my favourite song, “Soul Song”, where Cris turned the microphone up towards the sky and said “take it away Chester” as Chester’s original vocals played throughout the venue and you could definitely feel the emotion in the room.

Overall I have to say I was super impressed by Grey Daze. Not only by their wonderful performance but also by how lovely the guys were after the show as they joined the fans off stage and chatted away, took pictures and signed autographs for everyone as they genuinely just wanted to meet everyone. Which is such a thoughtful and rare thing to see these days!

It’s fair to say that Grey Daze absolutely rocked the Cathouse and did Chester proud.”
