Taking their sound in a brighter, more ambitious direction with their previous single ‘Louder’ paid off for Elephant Kind, leading to fresh support from Chris Hawkins at 6 Music, John Kennedy at Radio X and BBC Music Introducing plus an array of key playlists including Spotify’s New Music Friday. Now the Indonesian arena headliners are set to continue to fire up their momentum during their new adventures in the UK with the new single ‘Good Times’.

‘Good Times’ is exactly what Elephant Kind deliver with the new single. A synthesis of sparkling indie-pop joy and modern disco grooves, frontman Bam Mastro’s soaring falsetto delivers the kind of insistent, radio-friendly hook that could become their biggest crossover moment to date. The band more than complement his uplifting topline with sleek synths and dancefloor-igniting rhythms that will be equally as irresistible during their upcoming live shows.
Bam says, “‘Good Times’ is an ode to the euphoria of living freely. Yet, it carries a deeper message in its lyrics, ‘look out for the good times,’ which resonate as a reminder to balance freedom with responsibility, making sure our fun nights turn into awesome memories instead of bad decisions.”

‘Good Times’ was written by Elephant Kind (completed by drummer Bayu Adisapoetra and bassist Kevin Septanto) before being completed alongside high profile collaborators: producer Iain Berryman (beabadoobee, Wolf Alice, Young Fathers), mixing courtesy of the Grammy-winning Oli Jacobs (Harry Styles, The 1975, Taylor Swift), and mastering from Ruairi O’Flaherty (Lana Del Rey, Soccer Mommy).

The ‘Good Times’ extends to the track’s official video. It sees Elephant Kind perform in the gardens of a traditional English country house, with Bam’s charisma at the forefront of the action. Between the bright-hued heavy saturation and unorthodox flourishes such as the fisheye lens, its aesthetic captures the song’s summery, leftfield spirit. It was directed by Zak Watson (Jazmin Bean).
During their early years, Elephant Kind rose to become one of Indonesia’s biggest bands. Many would’ve been happy to maintain that status, but the trio aimed bigger and relocated to London where they started again as complete unknowns – a story reflected in the fascinating ‘From Indo To England’ documentary, which was supported by Clash, Dork and NME. Their early shows in the UK have introduced them as a rare proposition: a band with a wealth of experience on the biggest stages now effectively starting again in grassroots venues, most recently with a sold-out London show at The Victoria.
So naturally, when people see Elephant Kind they soon fall under their spell. Next up is a Breaking Sound showcase at Hackney Social alongside Theo Zellus, CHERiTANG and Curtisy – tickets are available HERE.
