You’re never going to move forward if you stay in the same place.
Kasabian have come a long way from the release of their first album twenty years ago to their latest album, Happenings.
Initially tarred with the Mancunian (hair) brush, the lads from Leicester set themselves apart. Haircuts alone don’t maketh the band.

Kasabian looked from football terrace to dance floor and back again. Their experimental sound embraced a heavy beat with sing-a-long lyrics that wouldn’t be out of place being chanted from the fans of the beautiful game. That heady mix scored again and again. Five number one albums set them in a league of their own.
Then, in 2020, they parted company with their man up-front, Tom Meighan.
Was this the final whistle? How could a man with more front than Brighton be replaced?

Up stepped Serge Pizzorno, chief songwriter, backing vocalist, guitarist and beard wearer. The flamboyantly attired 6ft+ clothes horse did it with aplomb. Nobody expected him to pull it off, but he did. Even die-hard Tom Meighan fans reluctantly agreed Sergio more than adequately filled Tom’s boots.

And that brings us to Happenings. The seventh album from Kasabian.
Initially announced back in December 2023, and inspired by 1960’s psychedelic gigs, Serge wanted to create an album for the live audience.
The first track from the album “Algorithms” was released back in June 2023 – more than a year ahead of the new album release.

“Call” a song referred to by the band as “dance music” was the second single released back in February.
The third single “Coming Back to Me Good” is a “short, sweet anthem” with a “disco drive”.

The album “Happenings” is another great album from Kasabian. It’s not a 2024 album from Kasabian it’s a 2024 album – FULL STOP.
If you’re looking for the same old, same old you’ll be disappointed. It’s still Kasabian but they have moved on and you should too!
