Yon Mon is the exciting new solo project from former The Shed Project frontman, Roy Fletcher.
During their lifespan from 2018, The Shed Project released two albums ‘The Curious Mind Of A Common Man’ and ‘Our Fear Is Their Power’ which saw the band amass over 120,000 streams on Spotify alone. During this time they also built up a loyal and devoted fan base and and played gigs up and down the country. When it was announced that the band planned to go their seperate ways, it led to many a disappointed fan begging them to reconsider. In then came the driving force behind what was The Shed Project, the main man himself with his solo project YON MON to the delight of many.

We are told that the somewhat unsual name is actually a common saying in the North meaning “whats that man up to over there?” So, what is that man (Roy) up to then? Well today (Friday 27th September) sees him release his debut solo single ‘Shine On’.
‘Shine On’ is a high octane, thoroughly uplifting track full of funky bass notes, epic guitar hooks and pounding drums, mixing together various elements and genres such as rock, pop and dance to result in an effortlessly pleasing melody. The track draws influence from the Madchester scene and is delivered with a real punch via the infectious and vibrant energy displayed. The vocals are on point showing a genuine confidence and swagger. The chorus is sing-a-long worthy “Shine On my crazy friend, our love will never end” and we’re sure is going to go down a storm when performed live.
‘Shine On’ really showcases Roy’s ability as both a songwriter and frontman delivering on all fronts and as such we’re sure that YON MON is going to be a name that is soon to become well known and one to be reckoned with.
‘Shine On‘ was Recorded at The Ivy Studio in Bolton, by Danny Hayes (The Jade Assembly).
