FORGOTTON PHARAOHS – KING OF MIRRORS – ALBUM RELEASE

Forgotten Pharaohs are Laurel Canyonesque, early 70s Americana band consisting of Christian Pattemore and Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson, (also known as Cast’s lead guitarist) and Leon Harrison-James on drums on percussion (you may familiar with his work with Ocean Colour Scene). With such a rich musicial heritage and a shared musical vision going for them, Forgotten Pharaohs was borm.

The band are singed to CREATION YOUTH (the latest lable incaranation of Alan Mcgee and Martin ‘Youth’ Glover) and today their debut album ‘King Of Mirrors’ is released.

‘King Of Mirrors’ is an album that succintly sums up what this band are all about. It portrays their characters and their loves and lives through the medium of music.

Opening track ‘Carousel’ is a bluesy number that sets the pace for whats to come. The album as a whole is an Americana rock fuelled offering dealing with issues of everyday life and the struggles that face the working class man, while all set to harmonious melodies and Christian’s incredible vocals. His voice is a gentle that powerful rock sound that really sets this band apart from everyone else right now.

This is nomore demonstrated that by the track ‘Drive’ where Christian’s voice is really allowed to shine.

Following tracks on the album,‘Bryn Yr Yydd’,’ Cable Bay’ Life To Burn’ ‘Yes I Believe’, ‘Soul on Fire’ and ‘Chameleon’ all set to further cement the notion that this band are something pretty special with thier chilled out harmonious melodies comparable to the likes of Crosby, Still and Nash, Neil Young and Creedence Clearwater Revival. The comparisons are such that its sometimes hard to believe that this is a debut album release from the band.
