“‘My Church’ starts off as a harmonius, delicate and soothing offering before the rip cord is pulled on the grenade and the full devastating effect is unleashed in the form of fuzzing, snarling guitars and powerful pack a punch vocals in the chrous hook. The track spins and turns in delightful dizzinging effect from hard to soft, rough to smooth, fast to slow. Its a precarious balance that Mr Bright has pulled off with massive aplomb. “

London-based, Derbyshire born singer-songwriter Tom Bright returns with the long awaited release of tracks recorded with the legendary Mick Jones, from The Clash / B.A.D.

The rise of Tom Bright has seen him appear on BBC’s The One Show, Sky News, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6Music, BBC 5Live, Radio X, perform at the iconic London Palladium, Shepherd’s Bush Empire, countless festivals and tour across Europe multiple times.

He’s gigged relentlessly these past few years, kicking off 2024 by supporting The Libertines and The Leisure Society on their tours, and before that opening for the likes of Mystery Jets, Tom Grennan, Reverend & The Makers to name a few.

On the back of a jam-packed summer (including slots at Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party), Tom is now all set to wind back the clock by releasing a string of tracks recorded with punk rock royal Mick Jones of The Clash at the start of his career (recently uncovered and mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road) – the first being My Church’  which was released oon Friday 18 October.

Co-produced by Mick himself and Dirty White at Mick’s old studio in West London, Tom recalls those unforgettable days: “I was fresh off the National Express, working in a restaurant by day and trying to kick off a music career with any available moment. I became friends with a regular named Mal who was the drummer in The Rotten Hill Gang – an underground West London band featuring more legends than you could imagine. I started knocking around with them at Mick’s studio (where they’d rehearse), and was asked to perform with them for a TV show. Julien Temple was directing, Glen Matlock of The Sex Pistols was on bass (who went on to play on this record), it was crackers… and it all moved forward from there. I ended up going out to Venice with Mick – he was exhibiting a load of his memorabilia at La Biennale and we performed together in Vivaldi’s courtyard. Shortly after this we started recording these tracks. They were crazy days – here I am, a young lad from a little village in Derbyshire working with Mr. Train in Vain. I’m so buzzing for the world to hear this record.”

Tom has three albums out in the world to date, all produced by Ed Harcourt. In a career that’s seen him cover The The tracks at Matt Johnson’s request, share a stage with Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) and have his guitar signed by both Johnny Marr (The Smiths) and John Squire (The Stone Roses), he also spent 2 years in Spotify’s Most Beautiful Songs in the World playlist and has turned the attention of many radio champion, from Guy Garvey to John Kennedy. Before his musical endeavours, he was the UK’s youngest pub landlord, and is also a former patient of Great Ormond Street Hospital, undergoing a multitude of life-saving operations as a child.

The latest single release from Tom Bright, ‘My Church’ starts off as a harmonius, delicate and soothing offering before the rip cord is pulled on the grenade and the full devastating effect is unleashed in the form of fuzzing, snarling guitars and powerful pack a punch vocals in the chrous hook. The track spins and turns in delightful dizzinging effect from hard to soft, rough to smooth, fast to slow. Its a precarious balance that Mr Bright has pulled off with massive aplomb.

Tom Bright closes 2024 by supporting Ed Harcourt in Paris, Sint-Niklaas (Belgium) and London, followed by an end of year homecoming in Derbyshire.
