
The world mourns today the sudden and untimely death of original The Jam drummer Rick Buckler, who has passed away just aged 69 year.
The news of his death from a short-term illness, has sent shockwaves across the globe amongst his fans and the music industry alike.

Buckler had been a member of mod rockers The Jam, who rose to stardom in the late 1970s and culminating in a dramatic breakup in 1982. The band in their career produced an imprerssive body of work with no less than seventeen singles, many of which rose to the top of the Uk singles charts and which are regualrly cited as defining the landscape of p[ost-punk to this very day.

Weller has today led the tributes for Buckler, paying condolences to Bucklers family, friends and fans.
Bruce Foxton, the band’s bass guitarist, has expressed the same deep sorrow. Foxton has such lovely of Buckler not only being a phenomanal drummer but more so as a cherished friend.

Rick Buckler’s contribution to the world of music will live on, from punk to new wave, he transported the genres and trends with ease leaving his signature style and talent to the forefront.
Such talent will no doubt be remembered for years to come with Rick Buckler’s legacy being eternal as a musician who has and indeed will define ,many a generation.
