LOGAN’s debut EP, Quarter Century Modern, is nothing short of a revelation. This collection of five tracks offers a fresh, genre-defying sound that draws on the richness of retro soul while embracing the vibrancy of modern pop. It’s clear from the opening notes that LOGAN is no ordinary artist – she blends smooth, jazz-infused vocals with an unapologetically bold attitude, creating a sound that’s as timeless as it is current. Her music speaks to a generation navigating the highs and lows of life in their twenties, making it a perfect soundtrack for those finding their way in an ever-changing world.

The EP opens with ‘None of Your Business’, a fierce anthem for anyone who’s been told they can’t make it. LOGAN wastes no time announcing her presence, serving up an infectious pop beat paired with her sultry, jazz-inflected vocals. The song feels like a declaration of independence – a message to the doubters that no one can dictate your path. It’s confident, and empowering, and sets the stage for an EP that balances vulnerability with resilience.

‘Stranger’, the second track, takes a dramatic shift into more emotional territory. Written about the end of a friendship, this neo-soul ballad shows LOGAN’s ability to tap into the raw emotion of a breakup, but not the romantic kind. Instead, she explores the quiet devastation of growing apart from someone who once meant everything. The melancholy tone of the track, combined with LOGAN’s hauntingly beautiful vocals, makes ‘Stranger’ one of the most poignant moments of the EP. It’s a track that anyone who has experienced the loss of a close friendship can relate to.

On ‘Finders Keepers’, LOGAN takes a more playful turn, blending a catchy, upbeat pop rhythm with powerful themes of self-worth and confidence. The song tells the story of reclaiming one’s power after an encounter with an ex, turning what could be a painful situation into an anthem of independence. LOGAN’s ability to mix fun, catchy hooks with meaningful lyrics makes this track a standout, offering both an emotional release and an irresistible groove.

The EP closes with ‘Special’, a deeply introspective ballad that captures the uncertainty of chasing a dream. LOGAN grapples with her decision to move to Los Angeles and pursue a music career, questioning whether it was the right choice. The track’s modern jazz influence and melancholy tone leave a lasting impression, making it a fitting end to an EP that showcases the highs and lows of self-discovery.

Quarter Century Modern, is an impressive debut, full of heart, emotion, and unapologetic self-expression. LOGAN’s voice and songwriting abilities place her firmly at the forefront of a new wave of talented artists ready to take on the world.
