MONTELLO – ‘SEE YOU RIGHT’ – NEW SINGLE AND DEBUT EP RELEASE

Montello are a four-piece indie rock band hailing from Wigan in Greater Manchester. They are made up of lead singer Jacob Knowles, lead guitarist Liam Conway, bassist Jacob Ratcliffe and drummer Toby Devereux.

Since forming in November 2023, the band have had a stellar first year after gigging all over the North West, playing their first gig in London, headlining an almost sold out Manchester Academy 3 and having a huge hometown headline at The Boulevard in November 2024 – exactly a year after their formation.

Within their first year they also released three singles: House On Fire, Class Act and Silver Screens. All three releases were met with great response that boosted their already growing dedicated fan base.

At the start of 2025 the band were selected for This Feeling’s “Big In 2025” programme, leading them to perform in a showcase at Factory 251 and earning a place on the A-Side of their “Big In 2025” vinyl.

The rest of 2025 looks positive for the lads as they face many gigs lined up for the year – including a headline with This Feeling at Off the Square in Manchester on the 2nd of May; alongside this the band hopes for a positive festival season with it already shaping up to be as the lads have secured spots at Tramlines and Sound City.

The single ‘See You Right’ and the debut EP are both being released on 11th April on Lemon Sun Records. The EP features two brand new tracks for the world to hear: ‘See You Right’ and ‘The Winter of Our Discotheque’, along with a re-recorded version of their debut single ‘House On Fire’.

The new single ‘See You Right’ is a happy go-lucky little ditty filled with jangly guitars and tickling drum licks. Its got a very nostalgic nod to it within the vocals and the hand clapping backing melody. There’s also some funky bass notes in the mid-section before the tune breaks down to take on a slower more thoughtful tone, before things playfully pick up once more. The track is finished with the sound of laughing and overall, this is what this track is about for me, its feel good music at its finest; a dopimine musical high.
