ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME 2025 ANNOUNCED

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have confirmed their Class of 2025 inductees including JOE COCKER, CYNDI LAUPER, BAD COMPANY, THE WHITE STRIPES, OUTKAST and CHUBBY CHECKER

The announcement was made on the April 27th during the American Idol television show in the US and was later confirmed on social media.

Other stars such as SOUNDGARDEN will join the above in the ‘Perfomance Category’.

Mariah Carey, The Black Crowes, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Maná, Oasis, and Phish were the other acts nominated for induction. Phish won the fan vote last week, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to ensure their inclusion into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame on this occasion.

Despite the Oasis’ reunion easily being the biggest music news of 2025, the band won’t be travelling to Cleveland for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. Liam Gallagher previously famously critised the organisation following their nomination, writing on his X platorm, “RNR hall of fame is for WANKERS” before responding to fans that he would “go and say it’s the best thing EVER” if they were ever to be inducted however.

Other artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2025 are Salt N Pepa, Nicky Hopkins, Carol Kaye, Warren Zevon, Thom Bell, and Lenny Waronker.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on November 8th, 2025, and is planned to be live-streamed on Disney+.

Last week, Billy Idol, who was nominated but failed to make the cut to be inducted, explained to The Independent why he believes that he deserves a place, stating, “Because I’m just fucking incredible! It’s pretty amazing that I went from something like punk rock in England to mainstream success in the States.” Further adding “I was not only involved in punk, I became a big part of the ’80s new wave. And then I carried on making the music, living the rock and roll life.” and to be fair we think he’s not wrong in what he claims.
