Snow Patrol was the first band to headline and kick off this year’s Forest Live in Delamere Forest.

To kick off the evening The Florentinas took to the stage after supporting Snow Patrol on the ‘Forest is the Path’ tour earlier on in the year. The band formed in 2019 and are definitely a band to watch. They delivered a high energy performance, which showcased the stage where they belong. They set the stage for Snow Patrol and the second opener ‘Freya Ridings’.

Freya Ridings then took to the stage with her amazing vocals, her emotional songs commanded the audience’s attention, taking them through many emotions with her outstanding lyricism. She performed only with her piano and two backing singers which made the performance even more memorable. With her hit single ‘Lost without you’ along with many others the audience loved her performance. There was also an amazing fan showcasing some of her merch at the barricade. After the show had ended Freya took this fan backstage to meet her, which was a wonderful gesture.

Freya had warmed the audience up perfectly for the  legendary Snow Patrol. They took to the stage and performed their songs past and present, truly making it a show for everyone. The audience whilst emotional throughout some of the songs sang on and kept the energy high. Snow Patrol is an amazing band and all of their fans that came to this show expressed how special it was to them.

There are meanings behind the songs for every single individual in the crowd and this was an emotional experience – so many people, so many stories.

Their aptly named new album ‘Forest is the path’ fits perfectly in the setting of the unspoilt natural surroundings of  Delamere Forest. Their arguably biggest hit and most heart warming song ‘Chasing Cars’ was such an emotional moment and everyone sang along swaying with their loved ones.

It was a truly magical evening for fans of all ages and the performance was beautiful from start to finish and were supported by fantastic support acts.
