We here at The Songbird HQ are thrilled to have been invited back to the Isle of Wight Festival for a fifth consecutive year this year to bring you our top picks from the grass roots new music scene.
The slots we offer are massively coveted and the competition is HUGE so we scour for hours/days/weeks/months going to gigs up and down the country all year until we see “The Ones” that we know are gonna blow the roof off that tent!

TRES KINGS
Foot stomping, high energy indie anthems! Boasting infectious riffs, raw energy and quirky lyrics, with TRES KINGS you can expect a host of high octane indie anthems perfectly capturing the band’s high energy and infectious persona. With repeated plays on Radio X, BBC introducing and high end support slots with the likes of Huey Morgan and Sleeper you know TRES KINGS are a band to keep an eye on.

GINGERELLA
Sonic & Iconic! Armed with jangling guitars and sardonic disposition, London band Gingerella have charmed audiences across England and France. Boasting sold out gigs across London and in Paris, the band’s Soundcloud demos have racked up thousands of listeners and generated a tangible buzz spilling over into mania. Inebriated, inspired, liberated, sexual and full of youth, Gingerella are ready to rock and roll with their new singles and EP release which came out in June.

SWEET UNREST
Dismantled poems flung across grooving hysteria! We’re fans of poetry, which to us, isn’t restricted to words on a page. When swallowed with music, words can morph and wax, til they better articulate some of those pesky and hard to reach feelings. Our songs ebb between longing and frustration – they’re odes and egregious grieving, cos that’s what life can be like. But we also think a chorus should hit you like a freight train, send you flying around the room in a fit of chaos and disregard, and make you question everything you thought you knew about the meaning of life. Really, it’s the tension between the delicate and the sensitive and the banger and the mash that defines our sound. Exactly what that means we are still figuring out – and our music is a celebration of that confusion.

Velvet Riffs In Tailored Rebellion Suits! Take the unbridled energy of 60s electric rock ‘n’ roll, the DIY spirit of 70s punk rock, add a dash of British austerity-era disillusion, then stuff it into some vintage suits. You’re getting close to the essence of The Deniros!
You can find all of our bands in the Hipshaker Lounge Tent which is a large capacity tent with its own bar, dance floor and seating area!! Officially one of the best places to be this weekend and we can’t wait to see you there!!
