The single follows the success of his debut EP Meet Me on the Moon (Feb 2025), which surpassed 300,000 streams and sold out a limited 300-copy vinyl run, earning praise for its ambition and lyrical depth. Scherdel’s sound draws comparisons to The 1975’s genre-blurring edge, Paolo Nutini’s soulful grit, and the storytelling weight of Springsteen — a comparison that earned him the nickname “South Yorkshire Springsteen.”
Since launching in 2022, Sam has built serious grassroots momentum: sold-out headline shows, supports with Two Door Cinema Club, Ocean Colour Scene, and Embrace, and major festival slots at Glastonbury, Tramlines, and Rock N Roll Circus — all achieved without a booking agent.
