Fresh from selling out of their vinyl-only EP ‘Eat Your Heart Out’ and May’s debut single ‘Party Girls’, Gingerella have now released their follow up single, ‘A Sophisticated Affair‘.

The new track is a heartfelt burst of indie charm, mixing swagger with sincerity and tragedy with humour.

With jangling guitars and an uptempo danceable beat (think This Charming Man) driving the song forward, frontman Adamson leans into lines like “did you know that love still exists, despite the fact that you dismiss, all those who try prove it to you and what good does that do?” and “ethics and propriety sharpened their swords at the expense of my brain” perfectly mixing the bravado and honesty that has made Gingerella one of the most exciting new bands in 2025.

On the flipside, ‘Knocking On The Doors of Wandsworth’ brings the tempo down but the focus up. This time a stripped back instrumentation with glimmers of piano and glockenspiel allow the lyrics to really breathe. Navigating Britain’s current fractured climate in regards to masculinity and patriotism, this shows a side to Gingerella that perhaps doesn’t always come across as stridently in their uptempo tracks. “When his temperament gets bested, far right sentiment’s elected as the antidote to Nancies in their Nancy coats. With their home cooked mother’s meals and optimistic leftist ideals – who laugh at his frustration at the national conversation.”
