Last night, Glasgow was buzzing with anticipation. Simon Cowell’s new boy band DECEMBER 10 took the stage for their highly awaited premiere at Òran Mór. They delivered three electrifying, sold-out performances. Fans were out in the streets as early as 8 AM. They were eager to secure their spots in the queue. They also wanted to catch a glimpse of the group as their branded tour bus rolled into the area. Despite having released only one song so far, the crowd’s enthusiasm was palpable. They roared the lyrics back to the boys. The handmade posters and cool custom glasses only heightened the celebratory atmosphere.
Since their debut on the talent show “Simon Cowell: The Next Act,” the group has been diligently refining their sound. The show showcased emerging artists. They have also been working on their stage presence. Their live performance featured polished harmonies and impressive vocals they displayed on television. It also included new tracks they have been developing recently. The shows lasted only 45 minutes. Still, the boys made up for it with undeniable charisma. Their energy kept the audience captivated. They also took the time before the encore to answer fans’ questions. This fostered a personal connection. It was especially valuable since this marked their official UK debut after the show. I have to admit that I was initially skeptical about a seven-member boy band. However, watching their live performance changed my mind. These boys have a unique spark.
Their set list featured a mix of unreleased songs—each showcasing their distinct styles and creativity—alongside some popular covers. However, the captivating performance of their upcoming single “Angel” was what truly stood out to me. Their vocals were exceptional, especially Danny’s little section towards the end. The heartfelt lyrics resonated deeply with the audience. The fans loved it so much. During this song, the boys brought a fan up onstage for each show. This added another little personal touch for their fans. They also performed their hit track “Run My Way” twice. They opened the show with a powerful acoustic version. During the encore, they closed with an amazing rendition. It was complete and kept the enthusiasm in the room at an all-time high. The boys jumped down onto the barricade to interact with the crowd, closing off a fantastic night.
The boys opened the night with an exhilarating performance of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark.” This set the tone for an amazing evening. The audience was delighted, singing and dancing in the pit, completely absorbed in the tribute. Following this impressive start, they began performing an incredible rendition of “Bye Bye Bye.” This song is by the iconic 90’s boyband N-SYNC. The performance elicited a surge of nostalgia for the golden age of pop music. The enthusiasm in the room was contagious. The band then showed their versatility with DJO’s “End Of Beginning.” They displayed their artistic flair and impressed the crowd even more. They soared to new heights with a poignant rendition of Justin Bieber’s “Daisies,” leaving everyone in awe. Each of their musical influences resonated throughout the night. Their nod to N-SYNC powerfully honoured those trailblazers. These performers paved the way for today’s rising stars.
As the night ended, it was clear these talented lads have a bright future in music. Their engaging performances and connection with fans will surely leave a mark. I look forward to seeing how they evolve and captivate audiences in the future. This is definitely the start of something special. They really have potential as long as they keep working hard and remain humble. Can’t wait to hear all these new songs on streaming at some point!
