” Dreamy vocals float above soaring synths and gritty guitar hooks, driven by a dynamic drumbeat.”

On February 20th, 2026, Danish indie band Mansfieldwill released their new single, “Too Much to Handle” – a bold and energetic follow-up to their critically acclaimed, second album, For All the Right Reasons(2024).

Over the last years, Mansfield have kept themselves busy recording and releasing music while doing gigs, radio interviews and TV-shows.

In 2020, they had a breakthrough with their debut album Star-Crossed Lovers, propelled by the hit single “A Place in the Sun”. The band quickly gained international attention from radio stations and music critics, and the album received multiple 4 and 5 star reviews.

Subsequently, Mansfield toured Denmark, England and Germany, and they put out an EP while finishing their second album. In 2024, For All the Right Reasons was released and received a 5-star review from leading music magazine GAFFA. The Scandinavian magazine also named the album one of the Top 3 Danish Albums of 2024.

But living the dream as musicians comes at a price when trying to balance expectations, external pressure and family life. The band members found themselves facing inner turmoil and had to reconsider their purpose and direction. Hence, the idea for the song “Too Much to Handle” came about.

Sonically, the single marks a striking evolution for Mansfield. Dreamy vocals float above soaring synths and gritty guitar hooks, driven by a dynamic drumbeat. The band embraces a more assertive sound, pushing their creative boundaries while staying rooted in their melodic indie core. Fans of The Cure, Oasis and Editors may find familiar ground in Mansfield’s blend of British rock tradition and Scandinavian melancholy.

Frontman and songwriter Christian Stage reflects on the song lyrics:

“This song is our way of expressing what we’ve learnt along the way. We’ve worked hard to get to where we are, but it’s so easy to lose yourself in that process. Making music and performing is great. Yet it’s difficult to stay focused when all sorts of things call for your time and attention.”

In figurative language, “Too Much to Handle” describes the journey of trials and self-discovery. The lyrics speak of venturing into the unknown and being in the line of fire, while trying to find direction.

The accompanying music video illustrates being in motion and chasing an undefined goal. This is portrayed by the main character played by Declan Land, a friend of the band who is fittingly from the town of Mansfield in England.

“Too Much to Handle” was recorded at Black Tornado Studio in Copenhagen with producer Morten Bue, who also did the mixing and mastering.

The single will be available on all digital platforms via DME record label. To celebrate the release, Mansfield will perform with the British band All The Young at Rust in Copenhagen on February 27th, followed by further shows in Denmark and the UK throughout spring 2026.

Mansfield are Christian Stage (lead vocals, guitar)  Mathias Wedeken (bass), Mathias Havelund (lead guitar, vocals) and Filip Gulløv (drums, vocals).
