The N.S.O. are a four piece Yorkshire band consisting of Reece Howe on Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Josh Tallis on Vocals and Lead Guitar,  Sam Barton on Bass Guitar and Jordan Watkin on Drums and Percussion.

The band pride themselves on mixing various influences and genres into their work resulting in a sound that is enticingly fresh and exciting. They combine dark and gritty vocals with light hearted melodies making for a winning combo at every turn.

The N.S.O. were first formed in 2022 and they released their debut single in November of the same year; ‘Hurts Instead’. This was followed up in spring 2023 with ‘Up and Down’

The band have been pretty much gigging extensively ever since including at festivals such as Tramlines, Bunkerfest (Supporting Mark Morris), Doncaster Summer Of Love (Supporting Neville Staple), Be Reyt and Barnsley Live festivals and performing a series of gigs with new music taste makers This Feeling selling out numerous headline gigs.

Following on from the release of their single “Do Ya” which attained the band praise and play by John Kennedy on his Radio X Show,  The N.S.O. then went on to gain themselves a lot more fans by virtue of  winning the £1000 cash prize in a  battle of the bands competition. To date they have also amassed in the region of 50k streams across DSP.

Fronted by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Josh Tallis, the band delivers a powerful and infectious sound. With tens of thousands of streams on Spotify, a growing national presence, and their debut EP ‘The Illusion Of Happiness’ dropping this summer, The N.S.O. are proving they’re not just another indie band—they’re a fresh, uncompromising voice in the modern UK rock landscape

Following the release of their fast paced, exhilarating anthem ‘Sunday Club’ in November 2025, and their first single of 2026 ‘Release Me’ which saw much praise and plays across the globe, especially in America, the band are now playing their hat trick with the release of “Counsellors Call”.

‘Counsellors Call’ is filled with jangly guitars, swinging drum beats and fast paced catchy lyricism making for an instantly memorable absolute earworm of a tune. It’s got a hint of the swinging 60’s matched with some undeniable 90’s swagger – the ultimate combo!

The band have said of the track:

“Counsellors Call is a conversation with yourself, your partner, your boss, your friends or your ‘counsellor’. It’s realisation and contradiction in one, to a familiar rhythm in a humorous way, just like life itself.”

‘Counsellors Call’ was written by Josh Tallis and Reece Howe. It was recorded at West Homesick Recording Studios and was Mixed/ Mastered/Produced by Federico Telesca.
