MIXING TRAD INDIE ROCK WITH A DISTORTED ALT-ROCK UNDERCURRENT, DRIVING GUITAR LEADS AND PUNCHY DRUMS WITH GRITTY LYRICIM AND AND SNARLING VOCALS – IT’S EXHILARING AND CHOATIC PERFECTION

London Gritpop 5-piece Sweet Unrest have released their fizzing new single ‘All The Same (La Di Da)’. The track is released following the band’s US tour in March which included dates in LA, at SXSW in Texas, as well as The New Colossus Festival in NYC, the 5-piece are riding a wave of momentum into a string of new releases through 2026.

Produced by Luke Burgoyne (Libertines, Louis Tomlinson, J Hus, Bastille, Declan McKenna), the band showcase the biting drive and energy which characterises their live sound on ‘All The Same (La Di Da)’, showcasing the depth of musical approach when compared to the tender nature of previous ‘Sometimes’.

Bringing together their indie-rock tendencies, with a fuzzy, distorted alt-rock undertone, the band’s sound balances between 90s grit and more commercial indie pop on ‘All The Same (La Di Da)’, topping the driving guitar, punching drums and grounding bass with the instantly recognisable, raspy vocals of Jack River.

River describes the single as a: “Scathing anti-romance diss track that calls out manipulators.

What the straw on the camel’s back sounds like. The sonic straw on the camel’s back. Jaded, cynical take on relationships.

A one sided argument, a barrage against anyone who’s trying to change you. It’s a response to reaching your wits end when someone is constantly trying to change you. Not holding back on the humour or the character, it makes light of the stupid kind of arguments couples can have. It’s a response to someone trying to get you to settle down, shape you or change you. It’s about affirming yourself in the face of someone who doesn’t respect you. Fighting fire with fire. The twist in the song is that in the bridge, I acknowledge that we’re really all as bad as each other. WE’RE all the same, and all have the capacity to be as insufferable as each other. The pointed fingers retract and point at the singer.

Funny, unapologetic and fresh.”
