The Clockworks are a four-piece band originally hailing from Loughrea in Galway and consist of James McGregor on Vocals/Guitar, Sean Connelly on Guitar, Damian Greaney on Guitar and Tom Freeman on bass. Tom is the only member of the band who is not actually from Galway and himself hails from Limerick. He met the rest of the band members while he was studying at Galway NUI and the rest as they say, is history.

The Band lived together in Ireland for 2 years before deciding to move to London in January 2019. The decision to move was brought about following a sell-out gig at their local (Rosin Dubh) and they realised then that they had the potential to make it in the music world so a move to London it was!
The band had been in London for no more than 3 weeks when they were blown away by Creation Boss, Alan McGee coming to see them play in their rehearsal room.
So how exactly did McGee become aware of The Clockworks ? well, apparently the story goes that band Guatarist Sean Connelly, sent McGee an Instagram message one day stating that their music was “like the streets with guitars”! and inviting him to have a listen.
McGee was undoubtedly impressed by what he heard and as he was due to go on Tour with The Happy Mondays in Australia shortly thereafter, he arranged to go and see the band and listen to the rest of their songs at their rehearsal space later that very same week.
Safe to say Mcgee liked what he saw and heard that day in that little rehearsal room as shortly after that meeting The Clockworks were signed to his Creation23 record label.
The future is most indefinably bright for THE CLOCKWORKS who find themselves in the company of other huge acts that McGee has managed and championed previously such as OASIS, THE LIBERTINES, PRIMAL SCREAM, THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN and MY BLOODY VALENTINE. Of this latest signing McGee has been quoted as saying “The Clockworks are the best band to come out of Ireland since My Bloody Valentine…..thank God I signed them”!
The Clockworks debut single on the Creation23 Label is due for release in early June 2019.
