The world’s on lock down and isolation with social distancing measures in place. This means no gigs, no get-together’s, indeed no proper band practice even. So what do you do if you’re an up and coming band on the scene like The K’s, well you produce an isolation track of course!

Yep, that’s right Jamie Boyle and Ryan Breslin from the band have produced a track together via WhatsApp and video calling all entirely whilst in lockdown.

The new song titled “Valley One” is a highly emotionally charged track and we are told was written spontaneously by the boys in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic and after Ryan himself was taken seriously ill and hospitalised with the virus.

The K’s were due to release a brand new single “Landmines”which was recorded at Parr Street Studios and which was being eagerly anticipated by fans and industry insiders alike, but due to the current global epidemic this was put on hold. So, in the interim the lads decided to come up with this soul inspiring melody.

Valley One” shows a new side to the band away from their ferocious, rip-roaring usual style. The new single is a break away from the norm for the band and showcases not only their undeniable talent, but also their ability to be all round musical performers. From first listen to this track, I was hooked. Its deeply moving and beautiful, from the piano and the acoustic guitar to the extremely poignant lyrics and Jamie’s vocals being so crystal clear and precise, its haunting and a true masterpiece and I urge you all to have a listen.

Indeed, “Valley One” is already doing amazingly well having received its debut play on Independent FM in Los Angeles and already receiving over 5,000 streams in its first weekend of release.

As for the Band themselves, well The K’s train certainly shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. They played a sold out gig at the Manchester Ritz in January followed by a sold out four night headline tour across the UK with This Feeling. More recently Jamie and Ryan staged on online acoustic show which once again, as you have may have guessed, sold out!

VALLEY ONE is available on all major download platforms now.
