Scottish band Shambolics formed in 2018 is made up of Lewis McDonald on Vox/Guitar, Darren Forbes on Vox/Guitar, Jordan McHatton on Bass, Jake Bain on Drums/ Backing Vox and Scotty Paws on Keyboard/Backing Vox. They’ve been cited by Alan McGee as ‘one of the greatest Scottish bands’ who as such signed them to his Creation 23 label. They have now returned with their huge new Single ‘If you want it’

The introduction to this single shows that these guys are to be taken seriously. It shows an immense talent of swapping soft melody between punchy guitars and chanting anthems.

Watching this band grow with each release has been amazing, the band have the natural ability to tune in with the fans and the crowds, selling out shows in their hometown of Glasgow. The band continue to deliver melodies that not only interact with their fans, but have them begging for more!

‘If you want it’ delivers a fresh energetic sound from the get go, produced by Chris Marshall (Gerry Cinnamon and The Dunts) The single really has that crowd pleasing anthem style about it, it puts me in mind of The Dandy Warhols. Darren Forbes co-lead vocalist and guitarist says of the track that they really wanted to achieve a ‘fuck you’ big energy song’ – job done then!

The Song itself has that football chant vibe about it and proved to be an instant hit whilst played to crowds on their recent tour, with lyrics being easily picked up amidst a mass of fans crowd surfing!

Forbes says of the inspiration behind the track and how it’s about ;

“ripping into a guy who thinks he’s the man after a few drinks….He’s all about the cool trainers and clothes but he’s skint so he’s all talk.”

Did he have anyone in particular in mind for this character behind the song?

“Aye, it’s me,” he quips!!

Shambolics have an undeniable likeable air about them, it’s the down to earth, not taking themselves too seriously vibe coupled with their hard graft and determination where their music is concerned that sets them apart from other bands.

The band’s landmark show; the 1000 capacity SWG3 gig , will no doubt blow people away and will continue to add fuel to the bands ever growing fire.
