Fresh off the road with Turnstile, Chubby and the Gang are back with something new for us.

For those of you who are yet to be introduced, the band is made up of five North London punks. They look like dreamyFleetwood Mac rockers but sound like you wouldn’t want to piss them off in a pub, or owe them money.

Now were fully acquainted, Chubby and the Gang released their sexy little EP ‘Labour of Love’ on Valentine’s day 2022, featuring three mind bending tracks ‘Who Loves Ya? (Coup d’état)’, ‘Twice Shy’ and ‘Aint There No One’. They also treated us to a music video for ‘Who Loves Ya? (Coup d’état)’filmed and edited by the band’s tour manager, Ted Foster. Watch it here now.

The EP is slightly sweeter than their usual chaotic punk rock fumble of guitars and vocals… a lot less swearing and a lot more loving (Aww, punks need love too! I think there’s a merch idea in that).

Frontman Charlie ‘Chubby’ Manning Walker says

“We had the idea to do a Valentine’s Day single and I sort of wanted to show all the angles of love. Warts and all. Quite often it’s not such a smooth experience. Can often feel scary and insane. So I wanted to write a bubblegum song about it but also show the duality of the emotion.”

You can bag yourself a copy of ‘Labour of Love’ digitally now or pre-order a special picture disc 7″

The new EP follows on from ‘Chubby and the Gangs’ hotly anticipated Sophomore album ‘The Mutts Nuts’. An album for those who are comfortable in chaos, a beautifully dramatic and colourful mash of sounds, vocals, and pure punk passion. The album was produced by Jonah Falco of ‘Fucked Up’, and was featured on year-end lists by Rough Trade and Kerrang (“uncompromising Brit-punk anthems“).

If you want to see ‘the Gang’ up close and personal you can catch them on a huge 2022 smasher of a UK tour this March supporting The Chats. They also have a number of headline shows and festivals in the diary for Summer!

Also… overseas crew, keep your eyes peeled because there might just be some action coming your way very soon! Shhh……..
