JEALOUSY

Fresh from a festival filled summer, 17 year old Anglesey born singer-songwriter, Megan Wyn, releases her latest track today (30th September) entitled ‘Jealousy’.

Following from her previous two single releases of ‘Polaroid’ released in January 2021 and ‘Better Of You’ released in February 2022, ‘Jealousy’ is a welcome change of pace for the young star as we see her start to find her feet and her confidence as she produces a more rocky indie sound to her previous offerings. That incredible voice is still very much there, but this time around, its allowed to sync and meld with the more heavy guitar riff and pounding drum laden track. In essence this is song that we have been waiting for from the young songstress. With that catchy chorus hook, it’s a track that’s instantly got into our system and taken hold of our senses!

Megan’s debut single, ‘Polaroid’ and her second single, ‘Better of You’ have surpassed 40 thousand streams on Spotify alone and both ‘Polaroid’ and ‘Better of You’ made it onto the Welsh A-List on BBC Radio Wales. ‘Jealously’ was also premiered by Adam Walton on BBC Radio Wales last weekend. ‘Polaroid’ also made it onto Gary Crowley’s ‘Best of 2021’ list on BBC Radio London

The track was produced by Ben Harper, who’s worked with the likes of The Mysterines, The Sherlocks and The Kairos. Ben really helped to take Megan’s indie-rock sound to the next level and bring Megan’s vision of a dark and heartfelt atmosphere to life. The track was recorded at The Motor Museum Studio in Liverpool, home to the Arctic Monkeys, Ben Howard, The 1975 and Bring Me The Horizon and the mastering was done by Graeme Lynch.

Despite being previously unreleased,‘Jealousy’, has quickly established itself a fan-favourite being played by Megan at various gigs and festivals up and down the country.

Its quite astounding that Megan wrote this song at the age of just 15 years old, especially as its a song about feeling as if you’re not good enough and the constant need to compare yourself to others in order to be liked. ‘Jealousy’ is a song that captures those emotions so eloquently. Some of the inspirations for this song includes PJ Harvey, Wolf Alice, Kings of Leon, The Mysterines and Elastica.

Megan has undoubtedly come a long way in this past couple of years touring around the UK and sharing the stage with the likes of Andrew Cushin, John Power of Cast/The La’s, The K’s, The Skinner Brothers, Red Rum Club, The Clause, Trampolene and many more. As well as sharing major festival lineups with legendary musicians such as Stereophonics, Muse and Kasabian. Festivals for Megan have included YNot Festival, Truck Festival, The Great Escape Festival and for the second year in a row, The Isle of Wight Festival.
