RELAPSE

UK Indie-Rock artist WREN released his latest single on Friday 31.03.23 called ‘Relapse’.
After years of being a ghost writer for various other artists, WREN was formed in the summer of 2019 as a creative alias for UK songwriter Kieran Newell.

Along with the live WREN band, the WREN project was born and started with the release of ‘Lost Boys’, a collaboration with rap-group Skillful Attitude in June 2019. The song and video were received incredibly well and led to numerous live gigs.
In September 2019 WREN had a two-night stint supporting Pete Doherty of The Libertines, shortly followed thereafter by acoustic gigs at The Libertines Hq, the infamous ‘The Albion Rooms’ in Margate.
WREN went on to support Britpop legends James on their ‘All the Colours of You’ tour in 2021, along with other indie favourites The K’s – seeing them perform in front of crowds of up to 5,000 people.

WREN, along with his backing band, started 2020 with a string of gigs across Kent and London, playing at the famous Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden just before the global COVID-19 pandemic brought the UK into lockdown.
Despite the challenges of lockdown, WREN went on to record and release his second single ‘Volantis’ with producer Lenny Bunn.
Moving on to New Years Day 2021, WREN released the most successful single to date, ‘Godspeed’. After getting a big ‘Release Radar’ and ‘Discover Weekly’ push, the single hit over 10k streams on Spotify within the first week alone gaining the band plays and interview coverage with press and radio stations globally.
WREN now returns with his first single of 2023 with the release of ‘Relapse’. A song about getting past your inner demons and looking to the future. ‘Relapse’ definitely signals new beginnings for WREN with a renewed determination and with more releases planned for the rest of the year.
The artist explains that ‘Relapse’ is “an interpretation of an apology, to our loved ones and even ourselves. It’s the push and pull with the hope quote ‘I’m going back to the side with greener grass’ to become better from whatever struggles we may face”.

Despite being WREN’s most “serious” single to-date, the track is not starved of his signature stadium-rock sized sound and soaring, catchy chorus hook lines.
‘Relapse’ is a a track that means business, it’s filled with a raw and determined energy, massive guitar riffs and pounding drums are married beautifully with Wren’s powerful and emotive vocals.
