FINN FORSTER RELEASES HEART-WRENCHING NEW SINGLE, STRANGERS

Middlesbrough-born rising star, Finn Forster today releases his first single of 2026, the heart-wrenching Strangers. It hears of the grapple and stark reminder of how quickly romantic couples can go from “strangers to lovers”. The vulnerable song received its first play on BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday night, where Finn joined Jack Saunders and Sian Eleri live on air for their Road to R1BW show. The new track marks an exciting new chapter for Finn, and the start of a larger body of work coming soon.
Finn has explained, “Strangers is about the full circle moments you have with someone in a relationship. Going from total strangers, to being in love or meaning everything to them, to then going back to acting like strangers again. It’s one of those songs for me that came to me when I least expected it, and turned into a finished song really quickly. It doesn’t always come together that fast, but there’s something that feels incredibly raw and real when a song literally falls out of me in that way.”
Strangers arrives whilst Finn is in the midst of his biggest ever UK headline tour, spanning 12 dates which are 80% sold out, with 5 completely sold out dates! He will also play a host of UK festivals this year including BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, TRNSMT, Boardmasters and Isle of Wight.
October this year will see Finn head out on tour with New York-based rock musician, Des Rocs. They will kick things off in the UK, before heading to Europe. Full live dates are listed below.
Last year, the singer-songwriter played a show as part of the Mercury Prize Fringe, which took place in Newcastle making it the first time it’s taken place outside of London. Finn also supported pop royalty JADE shortly before this at the BBC Proms which was also in Newcastle. He shared a dressing room with BBC Radio 1’s Greg James who was also hosting the evening. On stage, following Finn’s performance Greg said, “Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the unreal vocals of Finn Forster?”
2025 also saw Finn complete his own sold-out UK & Ireland headline tour, including a hometown show at Middlesbrough’s Empire. He supported Bastille at the Motorpoint Arena, was invited to support Stereophonics on their UK & European stadium tour in the Summer plus their Winter arena tour, and played various UK festivals including Reading & Leeds and Kendal Calling.
Strangers follows Finn’s latest single Pablo, which he released last year. Pablo received huge support from Jess Iszatt on BBC Radio 1 Introducing, including a Radio 1 Maida Vale session, alongside great BBC Introducing North-East support. The single was added to national radio playlists including Radio X, BBC Radio 2, Channel 4 Sunday Brunch and Amazing Radio alongside big playlist inclusions on streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon.
Concluding a triumphant year for Finn last year, he received the coveted PPL Momentum Fund on behalf of the PRS Foundation, and joins the likes of alumni Little Simz, Sam Fender and more. He was also chosen as a Tees Valley Artist Of The Year, earning himself career-defining funding and support, which in turn helps boost his region’s creative industries.
