Songbird’s very own Tres Kings return with a new single packed with grit, swagger and floor shaking energy.
‘Bad Side Baby’ arrives just as we’ve recovered from the dressing down left by its predecessor ‘ET’. It’s the kind of song that has you swaying and nodding before you’ve realised what’s happening.
There’s no introductions, or any sense of ease. Straight into a dirty, crunching riff designed to boot the door off any venue that’s brave enough to try and contain it.
This is the first Tres Kings release written by bassist Lacs Fuller, and when he and his brother Rhu (Drums) arrive on the track it kicks into another gear.
Frontman Wez King swaggers his way through the vocals in a typically scruffy, swaggering style we’ve become accustomed to.
The track leans into the positives and negatives of a modern romance, taking a rose tinted glance towards the imperfections of relationship arguments and hardships.
It explores the nature of experiencing a persons worst habits up close and the effect a mans laziness can have on their girlfriend. However, this is a love song in disguise. After all, they’re still your partner for a reason.
This is depicted perfectly in the line “I’m coming for you bad side baby. Been off grid ain’t spoke much lately. I know that you probably hate me, but I’m so glad that you’re my lady”.
Listeners can expect a catchy chorus, designed for the echoey presence of the punchy live performances Tres Kings have carved for themselves.
There’s plenty of “ooooh’s” and “Oh Yeah’s” for a live crowd to engage and chime back with.
Talking of the single, Drummer Rhu Fuller told us “It’s a modern love song about how relationships aren’t easy. It’s not so much that you’re trying to avoid the person and be horrible to them, more the fact you’re lazy and glad they’re your baby”.

Tres Kings reunited in 2025, and have a seen a meteoric rise and growth in that time. They’ve relentlessly gigged, including support slots for bands like Trampolene, Huey Morgan and Sleeper and festival appearances at Isle of Wight and Brighton Rock n Roll circus.
‘Bad Side Baby’ is Tres Kings at their best. It has all the classic indie rock elements their sound is steeped in. Ripping riffs, crashing drums, a deeply grooving bassline and a swaggering vocal delivery in abundance. It’s designed for the live stages, but also to rip through speakers, earphones and headphones.
Tres Kings further have recently recorded a live session with HOT VOX raising funds and awareness for War Child UK. There is an online donation and “fun-raising” scheme live on line now where fans can watch the special “virtual gig” make a donation of their choice to the charity or where they can “purchase” certain fun items from the band such as a silly selfie, a t-shirt, hand-written lyric sheet, private living room /garden gig and much, much more!
THE ONLINE CHARITY GIG IS LIVE NOW
All the band would kindly ask is that a small donation be made to the charity in return for viewing the live session.
