In just two years, Daytura have built an impressive reputation, gaining international radio exposure including support from BBC Introducing in the UK and iHeart Radio in the USA.
Their relentless live energy has seen them perform at Teddy Rocks, Bristol Harbour Fest, Vdub Fest, and a host of other UK festivals, as well as supporting Creeping Jean, The Entitled Sons, The Rattlebacks, Kit Trigg and The Hot Damn! on tour.
In January 2026, the band released their debut EP ‘Echoes’ , recorded at the iconic Salvation Studio (home to work from Dave Gilmore, Wet Leg and more) with legendary engineer Phill Brown (Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven) at the helm.
The result is a dynamic and electrifying showcase of Daytura’s unstoppable momentum which is seeing them fill their upcoming year with coveted festival slots, headline shows and a tour penned for September with Sonar Presents (see dates below).
The EP was followed up in March 2026 with the release of a live recording of their track ‘Silverline’.
This exciting band are now releasing their first new single of 2026 since the EP, the unequivocally timeless and instantly classic ‘The River’.
Combining elements of classic rock sounds with their own unique spin on things, Daytura have created a song that feels as if it has stepped straight out of the 1970’s whilst also being entirely brand new with an exciting freshness to it.
It’s raw, gritty and powerful and is simply made to be played loud on big stadium stages!
The band have said of the track:-
“We wanted to capture that feeling you get when you put on a vintage vinyl record—the grit, the soul, and the sheer volume of it all,‘The River’ is about momentum. No matter what obstacles are in the way, the water keeps moving forward, and we wanted the music to feel exactly like that!
The track is also being released with an accompanying music video, which can be viewed here now.
The video features the band performing this high octane track on stage making the viewer really feel like they are watching the performance in real time. The live performance element is interspersed with candid behind the scenes shots of the band in their day to day lives at rehearsals, in the garden or performing at festivals. It’s a clever and engaging concept much like the song itself.
‘The River’ was composed by Sam Britton with additional musical collaboration from Shaun Andrews and Lloyd Whitbread. The track was recorded by Joshua Seabury and mixed and mastered by Phil Salter.
Daytura are Sam Britton on lead vocals, Shaun Andrews on guitar, Lloyd Whitbread on drums and David Alvarez on bass.
