Red Rum Club have today (October 1st) released their first music since their album ‘Buck’ in 2025.
The release of ‘Any Minute Now’ is the start of a new era for the Liverpool outfit, as they subtly hint towards a new album.
‘Any Minute Now’ arrives with a dirtier feel to the guitars. It feels like their usual sheen has been swapped for a grittier, almost New York-indie swagger.

Red Rum Club have never struggled writing pop hooks, but this offers a stuffier edge to the band.
However, they haven’t abandoned their signature sound. The same knack for melody that’s sprinkled throughout their previous bodies of work, is still very much prevalent in ‘Any Minute Now’. Fran Doran’s vocal delivery remains as poppy and playful as it ever has.
Providing the perfect contrast to these guitars, his melodies bounce over the instrumentation, with that signature infectious quality.
This marks the first release since Joe “The Blow” Corby departed earlier this year. The details are still unclear, but he has now joined Andrew Cushin’s live band.
Fear not, fans of the trumpet sound the Scouse heroes are synonymous with, as touring member Eli Younger stepped in to the live shows, and is very much prevalent in this new release.
This hints towards an unofficial movement that see’s Younger accompany Doran, Simon Hepworth (Bass), Neil Lawson (Drums), Michael McDermott (Guitar) and Tom Williams. (Guitar) full time.
‘Any Minute Now’ isn’t Red Rum Club trying to become something they’re not. They’ve relentlessly toured the US and have fused these experiences and influenced into their albums. ‘Buck’ picked on these influences, so the guitars on this new track don’t come as a surprise.
The pop hooks are still there, the trumpet provides that familiar flash of colour, but there’s more dirt and grit under the fingernails. Their UK tour starts next week, so expect more teaser and glimpses into this new energy.
