New Single Release – PARTYMAN

So, who are SUAVE MARTYRS ? well they are a four piece band hailing from the great musical hub of Manchester. We have Ben Greenhalgh on Vocals and Guitar, Sam Brunt on Vocals and Guitar, Stu Maxwell on Bass and the delightfully yet somewhat eccentrically named Biscuit on Drums.

PARTYMAN is the second single release from SUAVE MARTYRS and was released by the band in support of their sell-out headline show at the famous JIMMY’S in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The new single purportedly came about when the band sold out their ticket allocation for this gig within a record breaking 24 hours. SUAVE MARTYRS realised then that the people really liked what they had given them so far as immediately started work on this second single release.

And what of this new single PARTYMAN well the band summarise it as:-

Partyman is an ode to the dark underbelly of Manchester’s alternative culture, all night parties of misfits engaging in a spiralling cycle of depravity. Always looking for the man that is on his way”.

Upon listening to the track, its apparent that although the song depicts its tale about a seedier side to life shall we say, the tune in itself is quite uplifting and melodic. With tunes and harmonies reminiscent of the likes of Crosby, Stills and Nash or The Byrds. Don’t be fooled by this somewhat 60’s inspired calm happiness though as the song then builds and toughens up in its choruses. Running through the gears into a driving bass rhythm and crashing dominant drum beats. The tune effortlessly takes you on a heady, whirlwind journey through the decades and builds into a climax as guitarist, Sam Brunt, cuts through in a mesmerising solo to lead up to the tracks gritty and fulfilling conclusion.

SUAVE MARTYRS are currently causing a stir across the city of Manchester and I’m sure it won’t be long before they break the restraints of their home towns to pursue musical domination across the land.

The next date where you can catch SUAVE MARTYRS play live is on the 14th September at the Night People in Manchester. Further details and tickets info can be found at the link below.
