LIVE REVIEW AT THE WATER RATS LONDON 21.02.2020

On Friday night I headed into London, to the iconic, The Water Rats to be precise to go and see the band; The Gulps.

Now, I had heard some of their music previously having been sent some press releases, but nothing could of prepared me for just how good this band were going to be!

In fairness, this could of been quite a tough gig for The Gulps having to perform in front of a crowd of die hard Shaun Ryder and Happy Monday’s fans (they were supporting Shaun Ryder as part of his QnA tour). That being said however, the crowd were instantly converted to the special breed of exquisite rock n roll that was being playing out in front of their eyes and I think its safe to say that The Gulps made themselves quite a few new fans that night.

The band from the first opening chords of that first song were Punchy, Dynamic, Energetic a real force to be reckoned with. Being a five piece you could be forgiven for expecting some chaos up there, but this was simply not the case. The band were tight with their professionalism with each member knowing his own particular role and absolutely owning it. From the guitar and drums solos to lead front man Harry jumping all around the stage and interacting with the very appreciative crowd, it really felt like you you were a part of the show; a part of the magic that was being created.

It’s certainly a gig I won’t be forgetting in a hurry and my advice to you is if you get a chance to see The Gulps live, then jump at it! I left that night very happy and a true The Gulps fan. I cant wait to catch them at a gig again soon.
