SWEET LULLABY
ROLLA are a fairly new 5 piece band out of the Tameside area of Manchester consisting of James Gilmore, Luke Gilmore, Luke McConnell, Marston Robinson & Tom Paddon. They all met when they lived together whilst studying Music Production and Graphic Design.

The band made a big impact on the live scene with their first single release ‘Thinking Of Tomorrow’, but obviously current restrictions and lockdown has curtailed the live scene somewhat, but this hasn’t deterred ROLLA and 2021 looks to be a very big year for them.

They released their second single “Sweet Lullaby” early in the New Year to much acclaim receiving “Record of The Week”airplay on XS Manchester and Amazing Radio and were also “This Feeling” and “GigSlutz” “Track of the Day”. The band say that they are planning to release more new singles this year confirming that they have already been in the studio and have recorded more new songs. Further, there’s plans in the pipeline for several live shows so keep an eye out for dates of these on their social media channels. (direct links below).
ROLLA self describe their style of music as “Pure Rock n Roll” and cite their influences such as Twisted Wheel, DMA’s, Fontaines D.C., The Verve and Idles.
The latest release “Sweet Lullaby” is a pure rock n roll song full of Mancunian swagger. From the very outset it hits you hard with heavy guitar rifts and wicked drum beats. It’s base line is heavy and anthemic putting us in mind of a nostalgic 90’s vibe akin to the likes of Kasabian and Oasis. Its definitely a catchy little ear worm number of a song and has had us playing it non stop and singing along to the lyrics all day. We can foresee this track in time is going to be a massive crowd pleaser and one of those songs being played on the big stage with the audience singing the lyrics back to the band.
