THE PROPHET
“We Create the future… No we are the future…”
This is how we are introduced to “The Prophet” – the new single from Kill The Giants.
Wait. There was some beatbox there.
That’s good. I like that.

This is where it gets really interesting because the sound is a tapestry of different elements, multiple tempo changes, and snippets of sounds before it hits the main part of the track. The main melodic line has an eastern influence, as well as good old old crunchy guitars. The guitars are the most prominent instrument you are hear – This is the kind of thing you’d expect to hear if MTV was to make a comeback in its original musical form with back to back music videos instead of what it appears to do nowadays.
They are genre fluid. This is evident in this track. That speaks to me.
So what do we know about them?
Well this is the lead single from their fifth album, they are a band from St Albans and take their influences from the 1980s. They have received kudos and radio play (Well deserved) from BBC 6 Music, Radio X and more. Being someone that grew up in the 1980s this works for me and I will be checking out their catalogue.
Listen to “The Prophet” here now.
