Mark Maclean is the Scottish, Greenock based singer/songwriter who yesterday (Friday 16th April) released his newest single “Read Between the Lines”.

The single “Read Between the Lines” was recorded at SHAMBOLICS (Alan mcgee’s ‘Its Creation Baby’ signees) Eggman Recording Studios in Scotland and is further being released on their independent record label, Eggman Records.

Read Between The Lines” is a catchy and uplifting track with funky bass notes, twinkling guitars and rising, rousing indie choruses, the track breaks at one point allowing Maclean to shine with his harmonic, deliciously gravelly vocals accompanied only by an acoustic guitar with his punchy lyrics resonating “I’ve been up and down I’ve been round my friend On a merry-go-round that never ends Waiting for my time to get on that slide That’s life, that’s life, that’s life!”

Maclean has said of the new track;

“This new track is all about the ups and downs of life. Built around the idea that life is like a playground and you can’t have the highs without the lows. For me it’s a reminder that good times are always just around the corner and everything’s all part of the cycle.”

Listen to “Read Between The Lines” here now.

“Read Between The Lines” is a superb offering from the Scotsman. It’s not often that I’m sent new music and I immediately on first listen fall in love. If this is a sign of things to come from Mark Maclean, then I definitely can’t wait to hear more!
