Ade, is the super talented singer/songwriter and producer from New York, who brings us his funky brand new single ‘Another Weekend’, which is taken from his imminent debut album ‘Midnight Pizza’ which is due for release on the 23rd April through Trickwork.
Following on from his first two tracks ‘The City’ and ‘Havin Fun With Pharoah’, Ade’s new track ‘Another Weekend’ is a much more uptempo dance number. It’s 2 minutes and 18 seconds of pure electro-pop with similarities to Lauv, The 1975 and Years and Years`. If you listen carefully enough you’ll also hear Mel B’s famous laugh from the Spice Girls hit song ‘Wannabe’!! The synth loops and kick drum add a certain kind of magical ‘pizzaz’ to it, creating an absolute banger of a track ready for the summer we’ve all been waiting for.
The narrative of ‘Another Weekend’ is about not wanting to go out, and its lyrics find Ade lost in contemplation, and picking over a conversation with an old friend after a meet up. Ade says about the track:
“Another Weekend is something of an outlier on the album, but it was such a flow-y unfiltered account of my life, that I felt at the time I had to include it”.
‘Another Weekend’ sets the scene for a debut record overflowing with ideas that dares to dream big. If ‘Another Weekend’ is anything to go by, we are in for a right treat with the debut album ‘Midnight Pizza’. With the experimental pop involved throughout the album, it would be difficult to categorize into one specific category, but I can tell you, it will bring a whole new different sound for the future of music.
