THE NATIVE are a relatively new to the scene five piece indie band from Plymouth with their debut single “Chasing Highs” only being released last August, but they are already making a name for themselves having been championed by the likes of BBC Introducing South West and receiving high praise from , ‘CLASH’, “EAR MILK” and legendary new music springboard ‘This Feeling’.

“Stellar songwriting with a fresh appeal, The Native’s work has transformed them into one of the country’s most sought after new groups.”CLASH

“Barely into their twenties, the quintet are producing tunes that are brimming with wisdom and touching on subjects that expose their talented songwriting skills” EARMILK

The Native

The Native are now back with their latest offering “In My Mind”. What first struck us when we heard ‘The Native’s’new Single was just how stunning the vocals are. The standard is just so high, everything is perfectly polished. In fact, it’s hard to believe that this is a band who are an emerging talent, their music totally outweighing their relatively recent introduction.

This band take us back to when we first heard the mighty Sam Fender, not to compare, but to whole heartedly compliment ‘The Native’ on being what they are so early on in their career.

The Native

The Native’s Charlie Noordewier has said of the new track and their music in general;

“We found ourselves looking back on the twists and turns of half-remembered nights out, craving them every weekend……Some people think coming from Plymouth is a bad thing for your career…..We’re really proud to come from down here, though. We want to put Plymouth on the map with our music.”

“In My Mind” is accompanied with a video filmed inside one of Plymouth’s legendary venues. Watch the video here now.

The Native’s first post pandemic live show will be a hometown gig for them on the 17th July at the Plymouth Pavilions. Tickets are available here.

Overall, this is a great new band who are smashing it and are most definitely ones to keep an eye on!
