INTERROBANG
Headshrinkers are the four piece piece new wave punk band consisting of Garran on Vocals, James on Guitar, Xavier on Bass and Scarlett on drums. The band are quickly becoming renowned for the way they effortlessly mix together unflinching poetry set atop confrontational searing lead guitar riffs, thunderous, driving bass-lines and pummelling drums and for their frantic, full-force live shows with frontman Garran’s captivating, visceral performances.

The band were formed in 2019 and were built on a vision of wanting to capture the nuisances of everyday life within their music. Despite being a relatively new band, Headshrinkers have been quick to build a name for themselves within the scene, they were featured in new music promoters ‘This Feeling’ Big in 2021‘ list, as well as being named as Brum Radio‘s Band of the Year 2020. They also enjoyed press accolades from the likes of Louder Than War “You won’t be in two minds when it comes to Headshrinkers – you’ll be firmly in the ‘pro’ camp.” and Gigwise “The kind of incendiary alt-rock we’ve all been waiting for.”

Headshrinkers although bringing their own unique brand of post punk to the scene, confirm that they have taken influence from the likes of Joy Division, The Jam and Fontaines DC.
Today (Friday 11th June) sees the release of ‘Interrobang’ which is the second single from Headshrinkers’ upcoming debut EP, ‘Doorway Conversations’ and we are told that “Interrobang” is an “ode to self, in holding your moral integrity as temptation looms a day away”.

The track is explosive and heavy with haunting vocals and alluring backing-vocals from drummer Scarlett, the contrast between the two voices produces an energetic and enticing single that conveys the bands post-punk base with a more tender side. Perfectly produced, Headshrinkers latest track showcases their undeniable talent and ability for intricate songwriting.
Frontman and Lead vocalist Garran comments.
“Put yourself in the right state of mind, with the right people and work hard. Success will only compliment your change.People aren’t always going to fulfil you and more importantly, you’re not going to fulfil them. Accepting that change is a part of life. Change is a part of growth. Moving into a fresh chapter, you try to tame the ride of artificial guilt that you’ve mistakenly conjured up for so long. Interrobang is a catalyst of change. ‘Interrobang’ is about the realisation that a new-born life isn’t make believe – and is an ode to my other half for gifting this and instilling trust in me when I was only starting to build it within myself.“
