FEELS LIKE HOMES
CAVALCADE are an East London four-piece band currently creating waves with their version of blistering indie rock and roll. Recently signed to Golden Robot Records, CAVALCADE released their new single ‘Feels Like Home’ on the 27th August.

It’s fair to say that the band are making a big impact with their sound, packing venues inside their hometown capital of London, with their electric, high octane, live performances.
Cavalcade are made up of Connor Duggan (lead vocals/guitar), Jack Campbell (lead guitar/backing vocals), Tom Nunn (bass) and Steve Norris (drums). Despite stating that they intimately started the band to simply write and record just one song that they could cherish forever, it is safe to say that the band’s success has snowballed since their inception in 2017. Taking their music from their local pubs to the Isle of Wight festival and to venues across the UK and even overseas to Gibraltar and Spain – it’s safe to say that word of the band’s spirited songs and vigorous live shows has now spread on an international level.

‘Feels Like Home’ is a song that is essentially all about where comfort is. For Cavalcade, this is being on stage. It’s all being out all night until the sun comes up and the feeling of sharing those moments with the people you love. In a period where we feel as though we haven’t been able to return home, this song is the ultimate remedy to that.
The lyrics and verses of this song are inspired and based around William Gibson’s novel ‘The Neuromancer’. The story features a protagonist who is a cyberspace ‘cowboy’, who is poisoned when a job goes wrong and he is prevented from entering the matrix ever again. In the novel, the character longs to escape from reality, and for the band this embodies the message ‘Feels Like Home’. They state that “Music and partying are our escapes – it’s where home is!”

‘Feels Like Home’ is a song that starts off quite slow with the somewhat gentle strumming of an electric guitar, the track then takes off like a Lear jet with the addition of pounding drums reminiscent of a project that Jack White may have been involved with … it’s punchy, it headonistic, it’s a rush within my brain; and this is all before the vocals have even kicked in! And when they do, oh wow! I’m transported I’m in a sweaty mosh pit dancing my heart out and signing the lyrics back to the band with wild abandonment. It’s a sure fire hit – make sure you check it out !
Indeed, previous praise for the band would seem to concur the notion that Cavalcade are a band to watch ;
“Proving that the spirit of The Buzzcocks is still going strong.” – John Kennedy (Radio X)
“Perhaps it’s their jaw dropping riffs that give them the edge, or it may be the energy and vigorous no-shit attitude they have on stage. Either way, this band are fast becoming one of the most interesting and fun live bands emerging onto the scene.” – Indie Underground
“Cavalcade are creating waves with their anthemic, urgent straight up rock n roll.” – GigSlutz
