Coventry band The Institutes Release their new single ‘Something beautiful’ today Friday 8th October off the album COLOSSEUMS due for release 15/10/2021 on vinyl and CD and all digital platforms on the 22/10/2021
The album is a nod towards their hometown of Coventry being named after the legendry nightclub ‘COLOSSEUMS’ which also gives reference to a place where interactions take place in cities.
The band are a modern day indie britpop with feels of 90s era bands such as The LA’S with their harmonic, dreamy vocals and melodic tones that are an instant pick me up and have a buzzy Lightning Seeds energy, not to mention the modern upbeat indie tone of the DMA’S.
The four piece band consisting of Reid Zappa Currie (vocals) Andy Hall (Guitar and backing vocal) Andy Lowe (Bass) Kirk Savage (drums) have been keeping busy touring their latest outing being Sound City in Liverpool, and are definitely getting noticed. They have a loyal following fans love their upbeat live performances and are making waves with radio stations, previous singles such as ALL THAT YOU’LL EVER KNOW being played on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6, Radio X and many other Radio stations the band are certainly making ripples and getting the recognition they deserve.
Singer Reid Zappa Currie on the new single has said:
“’SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL’ is a song about passionate unconditional love for something or someone, without any choice, no matter what they put you through, no matter what they think of you or what they give in return. Love-Hate relationships, addictions anything that might be a burden of love, a commitment of passion and pain”
