MIGHT AS WELL BE MINE

TRACK OF THE DAY

The energy of this track hits you, Marseille take enthusiastically to their instruments pounding their way through what could easily be a future rock anthem given the right nods in a good direction….

The vocals are suitably 90s influenced, in fact the production overall feels very much like that… And it’s not in the way you’d think, like – oh no here we go another wannabe 90s band, they do it in a way that makes you want to hear more.

The guitars are suitably distorted and energetic, with a lead guitar solo showing off some great handiwork, played at a tempo that doesn’t throw notes out just for the sake of it….

I’d love to know how many takes that took, because it’s pretty clever in my book.

The drums are simple just enough to make you dance at a gig if they were playing, tambourines come in on the second verse as well just to lift it up again another notch.

All in all this track is full of energy and Marseille aren’t afraid to go full throttle, which makes me like them even more.

LISTEN TO MIGHT AS WELL BE MINE HERE

This is the third track from their EP “Marseille 1” the other two tracks are no doubt worth checking out, DO NOT think this is all they’re capable of, I’m not going to spoil it for you, but “She Knows A Place” deserves a spot in indie rock history…
