Jah Wobble ft GZ TIAN- Dim Sum
This mixes English with Mandarin, 你好 (Meaning hello) is how we are greeted at the beginning of this song, mixing traditional Chinese instruments with hip hop beats. I love the percussion on this especially, congas marrying up the east and west – this is covering a lot of ground geographically, culturally and audibly.
There are references to WhatsApp and the bell from a message received tone didn’t go unnoticed!
The short instrumental break at 2:16 is pretty sweet.
I love the fact that this brings mandarin rap together with English it’s a great mix!

Jah Wobble describes the track as “The new track has got the feel of an old ska classic, but it’s as contemporary as it gets. Chinatown on a warm sultry summer evening”.
The track was recorded recently with members of the legendary bass players family. In addition to John Tienchi on drums and Chinese zither, the track features Zi-Lan Liao on Guzheng (Chinese Harp) and Anglo-Chinese rapper GZ Tian (aka Charlie Wardle, Jah Wobble’s son) on Er-Hu (Chinese Violin) and vocals.
