Vona Vella comprises twenty-one-year-old singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Izzy Davis and Dan Cunningham. The band officially formed in Autumn 2020, after Ross Godfrey from the band Morcheeba heard their (then-unreleased) single ‘Sun’ and decided to remix it. Once released it proved an instant viral hit, racking up over 1 million streams.

The band released their debut EP ‘Go Outside Forever,’ in early 2022, which caught the ear and eye of Paul Heaton and in January of this year a remix of the title track from the EP,Go Outside Forever,’ was featured in the hugely successful NBA2K23 video game.

Vona Vella released their latest single ‘Divine’ through Strap Originals yesterday (Wednesday 3rd May)

Divine’ is a track that does exactly as it says on the tin. With its delicate, harmonised, soaring vocals and dreamy instrumentals its a track to float away on and just be carefree and at peace with the world. Izzy’s vocals are heavenly in their brilliance and are perfectly pair with the twinkling melody of the laid back instrumentals.

‘Divine’ is the second song, along with ‘Thought We Were Falling In Love,’ to be lifted from Vona Vella’s eponymously titled debut album, to be released on Friday 28th July.

The official video for ‘Divine’ was filmed earlier this month when Vona Vella supported Peter Doherty on various shows on his ‘Battered Songbook Tour’ and is available to watch here: https://youtu.be/nlucLTi3rHw

Dan Cunningham says of the single “”Letting people down, and learning to accept it, ‘Divine’ is a bittersweet song, with innocent major melodies, partnered with lyrics of guilt.”

‘Vona Vella’ was recorded at The Libertines’ Albion Rooms studio in Margate and produced by Jason Stafford (Jamie T, Sports Team, The Libertines and many more). It will be available on CD, digital download and 12” black or coloured vinyl in orange or blue, two different ‘night’ & ‘day’ sleeves with other exclusive formats and signed items are available – Preorder the album herehttps://found.ee/VonaVellaALBUM

All twelve tracks on the album were co-written by the duo: Dan playing the guitar and piano, with Izzy on guitar and flute… and joined by Jake Bott on drums.
