MCFLY / REMEMBER MONDAY / TWIN ATLANTIC

The fifth and final night of the legendary Forest Live.
Tonight marked the last night of Forest Live at Delamere Forest for 2026 and wow what an end to this year’s run of shows.
For the first support act of the night we were greeted by the pop-girl band ‘Remember Monday’ who actually represented the UK in 2025 at the Eurovision Song Contest. The band graced the stage with their radiant energy and lively stage presence where they were full of energy start to finish. The girls were joined by Steven Battelle on guitar and the ever so talented Hattie Steel on drums (who I had the opportunity to witness live earlier this year). They played some catchy songs as well as the famous ‘What the hell just happened?’ Which was played for Eurovision. This band is definitely one to watch for the future and have already built a fan base.

The next support act we had on the closing night of this festival was the Scottish alternative rock band ‘Twin Atlantic’. This band’s first ever EP was released all the way back in 2008 and even from the early songs everyone could tell they were going to be a hit.
They opened their set with ‘Don’t quit it’ which is a new single that was released this year and it was a perfect way to start the set especially to introduce them as a band. My personal favourite from the set had to be the classic ‘Heart And Soul’ which has an upbeat feel to it as well as the classic alternative rock aspects in there. If you like alternative rock this is definitely a band to start listening to.

Next the moment we had been waiting for; the reason everyone was there ‘McFly!!!’ The crowd was filled with McFly T-shirts as well as signs such as ‘I love Dougie’ and even a hand painted ‘Tom Flanders’ (a mix of Ned Flanders from the Simpsons and McFly’s very own Tom Fletcher.) But wow was the crowd excited to see McFly take to the stage.

Moments before they came on we had some absolute tunes played such as Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi which everyone joined together and sang the words too which is always such a wholesome moment.
Mcfly have been together now for about 23 years still consisting of the exact lineup they formed back in 2003 which is something we don’t see very often anymore; they also embarked on a co-headline tour with Busted (Busted Vs Mcfly) in September last year which I could see a lot of people in the crowd wearing merch for and if that doesn’t show the fan base this iconic band has built up I don’t know what would.

They opened the set with the iconic ‘Where did all the guitars go?’ And this song was a perfect first song of the set and the crowd absolutely loved it.
The third song of the set was ‘One for the radio’ is definitely one to see live especially with Tom Fletcher’s iconic jumps that he loves to do in this song. This band has an unreal stage presence and I think that’s one of the things that make the crowd and fans wanting more and more from this band. My favourite song from the set ‘Lies’ was also blended with another one of their tracks ‘Transylvania’ which was an absolute masterpiece and I was so happy I got to see this live.

The band also of course played some of their number one hits such as ‘Obviously’, ‘StarGirl’, ‘All about you’ and ‘5 colours in her hair’ which of course the crowd knew all of the words to.

I would say McFly are definitely one of those bands you need to see live at least one time in your life because their sets are always full of such energy and the atmosphere is always electric. Of course they closed this festival with ‘5 Colours in her hair’ which was released back in 2004 and is still a hit and still gets played 22 years later which surely vouches for this bands success.

Well that’s 2026 at Delamere Forest over and out.
Hopefully see you next year!
